hey saint ! I hope this is okay to ask, I know you have aspd and npd, I've recently received both these diagnosis and I'm a system, how do you cope with them and the way they present in different alters ? like if any of your alters are more hostile than the others, how did you learn to manage that at uni or in your social life ? have a nice day !

HII ANON ^.^ i hope your diagnoses are helping you better understand yourself. i’ve had mine for a while now so here’s the best advice i can offer:
- symptom presentation can differ massively between alters when you have those pds. i have alters who are just aspd holders and they tend to be a lot more flat and less concerned with image, struggling a lot more with boredom and rarely doing much. for me alters who hold symptoms of both tend to be more malicious and have more issues with not understanding their actions affect others, and alters who just hold npd symptoms tend to be a lot more sensitive in nature and obsessed with their image and hierarchy
- in terms of my social life, those alters who are more hostile did have to learn to mask !! for me they got tired of getting notes from my protectors telling them to stop trying to sabotage my social life, as well as the fact that they hated having to deal with conflict. a lot of mine struggle with self awareness, so i had to repair a lot of bonds along the way
- be patient with symptom holders !! they’re there for a reason, but that doesn’t mean that any bad behaviour is excusable, even though it is understandable at times
- when your diagnoses are still recent, it can be really hard to adjust !! so be kind to yourself and give yourself room for making mistakes or feeling as though your symptoms are worsening now that they’ve been fully addressed
